AYEA 2019

On behalf of the organizing committee and Korean Society of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopy, we would like to invite young enthusiastic endoscopists from all across Asia to apply for the Asian Young Endoscopist Awards (AYEA) 2019 program, which will be held between June 1 and June 15, 2019, in Korea.

The AYEA program is intended to promote technical advancement and collaboration among Asian societies of GI endoscopy. This program has been held annually since 2014, and around 130 young Asian endoscopists have participated so far. The program provides partial financial support to young Asian endoscopists to receive clinical training in GI endoscopy at selected endoscopic training centers in Korea to enable them to acquire and develop new advanced knowledge and technical skills in GI endoscopy. Grants in the amount of around USD 2,000 will be given to each trainee to cover travel expenses to and from the training center as well as for incidental expenses related to training including housing costs.

In addition to the training program, accepted applicants to AYEA 2019 are invited to take part in the ‘Young Endoscopist Forum,’ a special program for young endoscopists, which will be held in conjunction with the International Digestive Endoscopy Network 2019 attracting nearly 1,000 physicians and researchers from all over the world.
